Tuscano has been a Block Watch for almost 20 years and the goal of Tuscano Block Watch has always been the same......to keep our community safe, protected, and informed. Over the last 20 plus years we have seen the ups and downs of what the economy does to communities, and we have done our best to keep our residents informed. We continue our neighborhood patrols, speaking to residents and educating them about safety. Our community has grown by approximately 1200 new homes in the last 5 years.
Our Block Watch meetings were held every other month at the Estrella Mountain precinct with our Community Action Officer’s in attendance as well as speakers from City of PHX agencies such as Streets and Maintenance, 911 dispatchers, etc. Since Covid, we have switched to Zoom meetings once a month, however we hope to meet in person again soon. Our Block Watch is also working with the Lower Buckeye Alliance committee which was started to get business managers involved in keeping our community safe.
Phoenix police is stretched thin and we need eyes and ears on the ground to help report suspicious activities. Citizens patrol the neighborhood in pairs on your own time by foot, car or bike. You do not interfere with anything, only report things you see and act as a consistent presence in the community. Virtual Block Watch is one of the Phoenix Police Department's contemporary crime prevention and investigation tools that demonstrates the effectiveness of partnerships between police and the community. Registering your camera not only helps deter crime, but assists the Department in its overall crime prevention strategy in your neighborhood. Periodically we will host an event where we offer some light food and beverages as we sit down with our local officers. This is an opportunity to get comfortable with our officers and ask any questions you may have. Keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming events.
Tuscano Block Watch partners with other block watches in the area to do a giant block party the third week in October! If you own a local business or food truck and would like to participate in the event please email us at tuscanoblockwatch@gmail.com
In addition to the downloads below, you can find any information pertaining to city laws and safety tips on the City of Phoenix Neighborhood Resource Page.

The Community Action Officers work closely with citizens, community groups and businesses to take a proactive approach to crime prevention and to enhance the quality of life within the precinct. Community Action Officers are the initial responding team to City Council requests to citizen concerns. Community Action Officers are also responsible for community outreach, representing the Department at community meetings and host numerous community events to improve relations between the police and the community they serve.
